Governor Nigel Dakin has appointed Supreme Court judge Mr. Justice Carlos Simons to review Hon. Jamell Robinson’s complaints that his votes in the February 19th, 2021 general elections were under-counted.
“(Robinson)…has asked me to look into what he believes is a discrepancy in the number of votes credited to him in ED6 following the most recent general election. I have asked Justice Carlos Simons to review the matter. I will await his detailed report and recommendations before making any further statement,” Governor Dakin said in a press release.
Robinson, one of the five successful Progressive National Party (PNP) At Large candidates in the last elections, said his votes were under-counted.
The official results released by Supervisor of Elections, Dudley Lewis, stated Robinson received 3, 418 votes. However, Robinson told The SUN that by his calculation, he received 3,500 votes.
